Angela Evelyn Bassett was born in the US. She has been recognized for her TV and film performance since the 1980s. Her awards comprise two Golden Globe Awards, sixteen NAACP Image Awards as well as nominations for Academy Awards and Primetime Emmy Awards. Bassett is originally from New York New York. She was born in Winston-Salem North Carolina. Bassett along with her sister and their mother relocated into St. Petersburg Florida when Bassett was 5 years old. Their father separated from their mom. While in high school Bassett saw John Steinbeck's play Of Mice and Men starring James Earl Jones and decided she would like to be an actor. When she graduated from Yale University New Haven Connecticut in the year 1980, she earned an undergraduate degree of African American Studies, she was able to obtain an MA (1983) from the Yale School of Drama. While at Yale she came across Courtney B. Vance a actress who was a friend of hers. They got married in 1997. Qualification: B.A. BA. (Afro-American studies) in 1980. An M.A. in Fine Arts (Drama) from Yale School of Drama School. Angela Bassett is currently working in one of the lead parts in the film Ramonda in the action movie i.e. Black Panther Wakanda forever 2022.
